A group of private and church organizations in St Kitts and Nevis are urging political parties to be mindful of their conduct during campaign activities for the upcoming general election.

While Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas is yet to announce a date for the general election, the ruling St Kitts Labour Party and the main opposition People’s Action Movement have begun preparations for the polls.

In a joint statement yesterday the St Kitts-Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the St Kitts Evangelical Association and the St Kitts Christian Council called for political parties to ensure that upcoming polls are open and free from fear.

They’re also urging all stakeholders to review guidelines, which govern conduct during elections.
