WICB to stick with replacement squad

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is expected to stick with the second-string squad selected for the first two One-Day Internationals against Bangladesh, despite the regular players making themselves available for selection.

The first two games of the three-match series will take place in Dominica on July 26 and July 28.

The regular players who were on strike because of a dispute over pay, medical care and working conditions made themselves available after an arbitrator was appointed to mediate their dispute with the WICB yesterday.

The regular players made themselves available hours after the board named a 14-man squad for the first two games.

However, it has been reported that the Floyd Reifer-led replacement squad will travel to Dominica today to begin preparation for the games.

The replacement squad lost the Digicel Test series 2-0, allowing Bangladesh their first-ever overseas Test Series win. Eight of the players from the Test squad are in the One Day International squad.

They are Reifer, Darren Sammy, David Bernard Junior, Nikita Miller, Nelon Pascal, Dale Richards and Kemar Roache.
