TCL Fourth Round Round Up

Hosts Jamaica will enter the fifth and final round of matches in the Under-19 TCL Group West Indies three-day competition in second place following the fourth round, which ended yesterday.



The final round bowls off tomorrow with Trinidad and Tobago still ahead of the points’ table after crushing the Leeward Islands by an innings and six runs yesterday at Chedwin Park.



As a result of the victory, T&T have moved to 42 points, 6 ahead of Jamaica, who defeated the Windward Islands by an innings and 97 runs inside two days on Wednesday.



Jamaica are on 36 points, followed by defending champions Barbados on 31, Leeward Islands 24, Guyana 16 and Windward Islands on 4.



T&T secured victory after dismissing the Leeward Islands for 143 in their second innings on yesterday’s final day of the three-day match. The Leewards had resumed yesterday on 24-1 after trailing by 149 runs on first innings.



Final scores in the match are Leeward Islands 174 and 143, T&T 323-8 declared.



In the day’s other match, Barbados beat Guyana by 9 wickets at JAMALCO Sports Club.



Set 100 runs to win, Barbados ended on 101-1 with Kraigg Brathwaite undefeated on 47 and Raston Chase on 25 not out. Final scores in that match are Guyana 169 and 145, Barbados 215 and 101-1.
