West Indies will go into tomorrow’s second One-Day International against Bangladesh at Roseau in Dominica trailing after losing the opening match by 52 runs yesterday.

The opening match of the three-match series was played in Dominica.

The weakened Caribbean side lost despite a career-best bowling performance from pacer Kemar Roach.

After the hosts won the toss and asked Bangladesh to bat, Mohammad Ashraful 57 and Shakib Al Hasan 54 helped the Tigers score 246 for nine in their 50 overs as Roach took five for 44.

The Windies were reeling at 8 for two after losing both openers but were given some hope by Devon Smith’s 65 from 84 balls.

However left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak took four for 39 to help bowl out West Indies for 194 with more than six overs to spare.

It was the first ever international match played on the island of Dominica.
