Jamaica against Barbados
Jamaica are well placed to win first innings points from defending champions Barbados in their final round TCL Group West Indies three-day Cup Under-19 match at Kensington Park.
Barbados, replying to Jamaica’s first innings total of 436 for six declared, will resume this morning’s third and final day on 189 for seven, trailing by 249 runs with three wickets in hand.
Jamaica, who resumed yesterday on 301 for two, added another 135 runs before declaring with Courtney Allen undefeated on 121.
Jamaica, second place in the points standing, need to beat Barbados to win the title ahead of Trinidad and Tobago, who lost first innings to second-from-the-bottom Guyana at Elletson Road.
T&T are leading Jamaica by six points.
T&T, resuming yesterday on 68 for two replying to Guyana’s first innings total of 228, were bowled out for 171. And Guyana ahead by 57 runs on first innings, will resume this morning on 151 for four in their second innings, a lead of 208.
Over at Melbourne Oval, the Leeward Islands will resume this morning on 77 for three in their second innings after being forced to follow on by the Windward Islands.
The Leeward Islands were dismissed for 194, replying to Windwards’ first innings total of 457.
