Jamaican Brad Hamilton smashed another national senior record at the 13th FINA Swimming World Championships being held in Rome.
Hamilton clocked 29.40 seconds in the 50 metre Breast Stroke on today’s third day of the Swimming Championships to erase his previous record of 29.91.
On Day One of the Swimming Championship he smashed the 50 metre Butterfly national record of 25.90 seconds with a time of 25.68.
Hamilton is scheduled to swim the 100 metre Freestyle along with countryman Jonathan Wong tomorrow.
Another Jamaican, Kendese Nangle, will also be in the pool tomorrow. She will swim in the 50 metre Backstroke.
Meanwhile, Britain\'s Gemma Spofforth set the 13th world record of the meet, beating Russia\'s Anastasia Zueva in the 100 metre Backstroke.
Spofforth rallied on the return lap for a finish of 58.12 seconds, knocking off Zueva\'s record of 58.48 that was set in the semifinals.
Zueva also went under the previous mark, but her time of 58.18 was only good enough for a silver medal.
