Jamaica well represented at DN Galan meet

Jamaica will be well represented at the DN Galan Super Grand Prix meet which will take place on Friday in Stockholm, Sweden.



The main event at the meet with feature world record holder Asafa Powell of Jamaica facing American Tyson Gay in the 100 metres.



This will be the second meeting between the athletes this month. Gay clocked the fastest time of the year when he won in 9.77 seconds in Rome on July 10. Powell was second in 9.88.



Jamaican sprinter Kerron Stewart will also be in action. The Beijing double Olympic medallist will face world leader Debbie Ferguson of the Bahamas and American Allyson Felix in the women’s 200 metres.



Jamaica will be well represented in the women’s 400 metres with Novlene Williams-Mills, Rosemarie Whyte, Shereefa Lloyd and Clora Williams.



Other Jamaicans down to take part are Brigitte Foster-Hylton and Lacena Golding-Clarke in the women’s 100 metre hurdles, Dwight Thomas in the men’s 110 metre hurdles, while Ricardo Chambers and Michael Blackwood will contest the men’s 400 metres.
