The Korean Central News Agency is reporting that Former US president Bill Clinton has made an unannounced visit to North Korea.

During the visit he will discuss the fate of two US journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee who have been jailed in South Korea.

President Clinton has also meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il to whom he conveyed a message from President Obama.

Mr Clinton is the first high-profile American to visit North Korea since 2000, as relations between the two nations have remained strained over North Korean’s nuclear ambitions.

Analysts say Mr Clinton may try to easy the deadlock over North\'s nuclear ambitions.
