England batsman Kevin Pietersen has returned to hospital after complications following surgery to cure a chronic Achilles tendon injury.
The 29 year old Pietersen developed an infection in the scar tissue.
The England and Wales Cricket Board said Pietersen would be discharged from hospital tomorrow after experiencing a complication of the wound made during surgery on his injured right Achilles two and a half weeks ago.
Pietersen required the surgery last month after playing in the first two Ashes tests against Australia and had already been ruled out of the rest of the series.
The ECB is hoping that the top batsman will be fit to play in some of the one-day series against Australia in September.
