Jamaica open against USA at WYNC
Jamaica will face the United States in their opening Pool ‘D’ game of the World Youth Netball Championship in the Cook Islands, starting later this afternoon at 5 o’clock Jamaica time.
The Jamaicans will be attempting to improve their fourth place finish at the last championship in the American city of Fort Lauderdale four years ago.
Two other Caribbean teams Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago will also be in action on today’s second day.
The Barbadians have a difficult opening match against reigning champions New Zealand, while T&T will meet Northern Ireland. Both Pool ‘A’ games are scheduled to start tonight Jamaica time.
Meanwhile, hosts Cook Islands beat Wales 43 to 37 in the opening game last night. The result gives the Cook Islands the early Pool ‘B’ lead.
