Antiguan students could be facing longer days in school, as consultations begin this week into a proposal made by Education Minister Jacqui Quinn-Leandro.

Mr Quinn-Leandro is proposing that the school day be extended from between 8 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

He says this is one way of reducing anti-social behaviour.

The consultations are to determine the practicality of the new hours and involve stakeholders such as the members of the Trade Union Congress, the Chamber of Commerce and school principals.
