JTA gets help from Ministry of Sport

Jamaica will compete at the 2009 Junior Cadet Caribbean Table Tennis Championship in Barbados this weekend.
The country’s participation was in doubt because of financial difficulties. However, the Jamaica Table Tennis Association has received the financial support from the Ministry of Sports.
Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Sports Senator Warren Newby presented the local association with $495,000 yesterday to help offset expenses.
The team departs tomorrow for the five-day competition, which starts on Sunday.
