Opposition senator Kerrie Symmonds has resigned.
Mr Symmonds resigned yesterday, a day before local newspapers said he was due to appear in court on a matter stemming from a domestic dispute with his estranged wife.
Symmonds, said he made the decision in the interest of the Barbados Labour Party.
He also said he needs the time to deal with a personal matter.
