The Swiss Federal Criminal Tribunal has rejected an appeal by the family of Haiti\'s former dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier to hand over the money seized from accounts in Swiss banks.
The court has instead backed the government’s plans to give aid agencies the US$ 6 million seized from the accounts.
The government says the family has failed to prove that the money found in the accounts is of legitimate origin.
Many in Haiti believe the money was stolen from public funds before Duvalier was ousted in 1986.
