Jamaican women qualify for 400m semi-finals

All three Jamaicans have qualified for the semi-final round of the women’s 400 metres.



Of the three, Keliese Spencer clocked the fastest time. She won the opening heat in 55.12 seconds ahead of Trinidadian Josanne Lucas.



Nickiesha Wilson won heat two in 55.35s, while Melaine Walker took heat three in 55.17 seconds.



The semi-finals will take place tomorrow afternoon, starting at 1.15pm.



In the women’s triple jump final, Jamaican Tricia Smith had a season-best leap of 14.48 metres for fifth place.



Kenia Sinclair did not get into the medal round of the women’s 800 metres following a fifth place finish in Heat Three of the semi-final.
