A delegation of American Catholic bishops is visiting Cuba in a bid to speed up the improvement of relations between Washington and Havana.
One of the early decisions of the Obama administration was to ease small parts of the US trade embargo, while calling for political change in Cuba before the entire embargo is removed.
The governments in Cuba and the US have held recent discussions about improved relations.
Cardinal Sean O\'Malley, of Boston, is insisting that greater contact is needed.
He says the Obama administration has been encouraging, but painfully slow in that regard.
