New inter-island ferry service coming

Published:Tuesday | August 18, 2009 | 6:22 PM

A new inter-island ferry service linking five Caribbean islands is to be launched in October.

The ferry, which will be operated by the Grenada-based BEDY Ocean Lines, will link Barbados, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Grenada.

While the launch will take place on October 1, 2009, the service is slated to start on October 20, 2009.

The service was originally scheduled to have been launched in July, but was delayed to facilitate the acquisition of a second ship.

Passengers will be required to pay between 120 and US$140 for the average three-hour trip.
