Bolt has already won the 100-metre gold in an awesome world record 9.58 seconds on Sunday.

He will contest the first semi-final of the half-lap event at 12:25 this afternoon Jamaica time following an easy victory in yesterday’s quarterfinal.

Bolt’s Jamaican teammate Steve Mullings will run in the second semi-final at 12:33. Mullings advanced out of the quarterfinals with the fastest qualifying time of 20.23.

Four other Jamaicans will contest semi-finals this morning.

Ricardo Chambers will run in Heat Three of the men’s 400-metre semi-final at 11:29, while Delloreen Ennis-London, Brigitte Foster-Hylton and Lacena Golding-Clarke will contest the semi-finals of the women’s 100-metre hurdles.

In the men’s 400-metre hurdles final, Danny McFarlane, the 2004 Olympic silver medallist, finished out of the medals.

The Jamaican ended sixth in 49.65. American Kerron Clement, in a world leading 47.91, won the gold to successfully defend his title

The women’s final is slated for tomorrow with two of the three Jamaicans in the medal round.

They are Beijing Olympic gold medallist Melaine Walker, who won the first semi-final in a season-best 53.26 and Kaliese Spencer, who took the second semi-final in 54.37.
