Jamaican Chris Binnie won the men’s singles title at the 2009 Caribbean Squash Championships, which ended yesterday in the Cayman Islands.
The fourth-seed Binnie toppled third-seed Colin Ramasra of Trinidad and Tobago 11-9, 11-8, 11-4 in the final.
Binnie, a first-time Caribbean finalist, played a very determined game and used his power to wear down the more fancied Ramasra.
The women’s crown was won by top-seed Nicolette Fernandes of Guyana. Fernandes defeated second-seed Karem Meakins of Barbados 12-10, 11-7, 11-4 in the final.
