Recent photo shows Castro in good health

A photograph of Fidel Castro published in a state-run newspaper, shows the former Cuban leader in a much better state of health.



According to BBC reports, 83-year-old Castro was dressed more smartly than in other recent photos, wearing a white shirt rather than his usual track and field suit.



Castro has been ailing for sometime and has not been seen in public since undergoing an operation in 2006.



Raul Castro, Fidel’s brother, has taken over the administration of the Cuban government after Castro stepped down.



The BBC says since then, he has undergone a series of major intestinal operations and the state of his health and his whereabouts remain state secrets.
