Six unnamed athletes from Cuba, the United States and the Bahamas were arrested by the Berlin police, following a row outside a nightclub yesterday.

The police say a group of about 20 people, including athletes competing in the World Athletics Championships in the city, were involved in a fight with bouncers outside the club.

Three athletes from the Bahamas, one American and two Cubans, were arrested on the spot. The athletes, who were not named by police, have since been released.

Three club employees were slightly injured when the group started throwing bottles at them.
