Colombia said it plans to file a formal complaint against Venezuela with the Organisation of American States (OAS) over allegations that its president, Hugo Chavez, is meddling in its internal affairs.
Earlier this month, Mr Chavez suspended diplomatic relations with Colombia over its decision to allow the United States access to military bases in the country.
Mr Chavez has now ordered the Venezuelan socialist party to expand its political activity into Colombia. But that move has triggered outrage in Colombia.
