Sri Lanka continue to pile on pressure

Sri Lanka retained the upper hand on day two of the second Test against New Zealand at Colombo, reducing the visitors to 159-5 at stumps today.
New Zealand are replying to Sri Lanka’s first innings score of 416 and they are 257 runs behind. The Sri Lankans resumed this morning on 262-3.
Ross Taylor has so far top scored for New Zealand with an unbeaten 70, while opener Martin Guptill scored 35.
Thilan Thushara took most wickets for Sri Lanka with 2-37.
Earlier, Thilan Samaraweera who was 78 overnights went on to score 143 to end as the most successful batsman for Sri Lanka.
Samaraweera was supported by Mahela Jayawardene who scored 92, just falling short of his 27th century.
Sri Lanka lead the two-match series 1-0.
