Schoolboy football season kicks off September 12

The 2009 schoolboy football season, which was launched yesterday, will kick off on September 12 with a triple-header at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay.
In the opening game defending Manning Cup champions St George’s College and Eltham High will face off.
That game will be followed by two daCosta Cup matches- Maldon against Cornwall College and defending champions St James against Spot Valley.
Thirty-nine schools are down to compete in the Manning Cup competition with Papine High making a return after a one-year absence.
The daCosta Cup competition has attracted 79 schools.
The winning schools in both competitions will receive $175,000 each, while the runners-up will take home $50,000 each.
Digicel and Pepsi will again be title sponsors of both competitions.
