St Kitts election debate call

The leader of the main opposition People’s Action Movement (PAM) in St Kitts has called for a series of public debates with Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas ahead of the general election that is likely before year end.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Douglas accused the opposition party of delaying the announcement of the date for the election, because of its challenge to the report of the Constituency Boundaries Commission.

PAM senior officials have gone to the courts in a bid to prevent the report, which also outlines new constituency boundaries from being used in the upcoming general election.

A judge is expected to give a ruling on the matter shortly.
