Firefighters die in California inferno

The intense wildfires in California have claimed the lives of two firefighters.



Officials say the fires, which were fuelled by record temperatures, are now threatening over 12,000 buildings.



Residents of 10,000 houses have been told to evacuate.



The fires also threaten communication towers housing transmitters for all the major TV stations in Los Angeles



About 2,000 firefighters are trying to contain the fires, which have so far burnt over 66 square miles of forest.
