FIFA bans Chelsea from signing new players

Football’s governing body FIFA has banned Chelsea from signing any new players until January 2011.
The English Premier League club was found guilty of inducing French winger Gael Kakuta to breach his contract with Lens when he joined in 2007.
A statement on FIFA website says Chelsea is banned from registering any new players for the two next registration periods.
However, Chelsea have confirmed they are going to fight FIFA’s ban.
A club statement says Chelsea will mount the strongest appeal possible following the decision of FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber over Kakuta.
