Trinidad and Tobago’s Finance Minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira is predicting recovery for the country\'s economy next year.
During her presentation of the national budget to parliament, she said the economy was forecast to grow 2 per cent after a projected contraction of 0.9 per cent this year, largely the result of lower energy prices.
Mrs Nunez-Tesheira also confirmed plans to help Caribbean economies, which have been harder hit by the downturn.
She identified Dominica as a partner in sourcing construction aggregate, such as sand and crushed stone.
The minister also outlined a project to maintain Trinidad\'s coast guard vessels in St Vincent and commercial aircraft in Grenada.
