Bolt undecided about competing in China, South Korea
Triple Olympic and world champion Usain Bolt will wait until this weekend to decide whether or not to compete in China and South Korea later this month.
Bolt’s agent Ricky Simms says a decision will be made after the world athletics final in Thessaloniki, Greece on Sunday.
Simms further says Media reports, which surfaced that the world’s fastest man had cancelled his Asian trip, are false.
Bolt is down to run the 100-metre races in Shanghai on September 20 and Daegu on September 25 after competing in a 200 metre race at Thessaloniki.
However, the 23-year-old Bolt says after recent meetings in Zurich and Brussels the long season in which he broke both his 100 and 200 metres world records has left him fatigued.
As a result of Bolt’s statement, Simms says a decision will be taken after he competes in the 200 metres on Sunday at Thessaloniki.
If Bolt makes the trip to Asia, it would be his first since his eye-catching, triple gold performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the 4 x 100 metre relay.
