St. Lucia hospital fire

Three people were killed today when a fire broke out at a hospital in St Lucia.



It’s reported that the fire happened early this morning at the St Jude Hospital.



Firefighters say they received reports of massive explosions at the institution.



They say the charred remains of two persons were discovered at the scene, while one person died while being transferred to the main Victoria Hospital in Castries.



Several persons were also injured in the blaze, which destroyed the surgical and recovery wards, as well as the operating theatre of the 110-bed hospital.
