Bolt’s agent dismisses media report
Usain Bolt’s agent Ricky Simms has dismissed media reports that the Olympic and World champion has pulled out of meets in China and South Korea later this month.
Simms said a decision would be made after the world athletics final in Thessaloniki, Greece on Sunday.
Bolt is down to run the 100-metre races in Shanghai, China on September 20 and Daegu, South Korea on September 25 after competing in a 200-metre race at Thessaloniki.
However, the 23 year old Jamaican said recent meetings in Zurich and Brussels have left him fatigued.
As a result of Bolt’s statement, Simms said a decision would be taken about China and South Korea after he competes in the 200 metres on Sunday at Thessaloniki.
If Bolt makes the trip to Asia, it would be his first since his eye-catching, triple gold performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in which he set world records in the 100 and 200 metres and led Jamaica to a world mark in the 4 by 100-metre relay.
