The Bar Association of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) wants regional governments to amend their constitutions to make the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) the region\'s final court of appeal.
The issue was discussed at the sixth law fair of the OECS in Dominica on the weekend.
To date Barbados and Guyana are the only two Caribbean countries that recognise the CCJ, which was established in 2005, as their final appellate body.
The OECS Bar Association president Tapley Seaton said his members are satisfied with the court\'s rulings since its establishment in 2005.
He said the Caribbean governments should take the steps to replace the London-based Privy Council with the regional court.
