The opposition United Bermuda Party (UBP) has been rocked by six resignations.
Those quitting the party include three members of parliament, a senator, and the party chairman.
The six tendered their resignations to UBP leader Kim Swan on Sunday night and have signalled their intention to form a new political party.
The three MPs are Shawn Crockwell, Donte Hunt and Mark Pettingill have also expressed their intention to sit as independents before the new party is formed.
They say they have been pushing in vain for changes since the UBP lost its third consecutive general election in December 2007.
