Antigua and Barbuda\'s opposition Labour Party has renewed its call for the government to abandon its plans to enter into an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
ALP leader and former prime minister Lester Bird says the government could find itself having to undertake painful measures in exchange for IMF funding to shore up the economy.
He says these could include selling off state-owned assets to pay off foreign debt and reducing the size of public sector employees.
