Olympic and World Championship 100-metre gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser says she’s still feeling pain more than five months after doing an appendix operation.

Fraser, who returned to the island yesterday after ending her season at the World Athletics Final in Thessaloniki, Greece, says she was in pain just before competing in the 100-metre final at the World Championship in Berlin, Germany last month.

Fraser clocked an astonishing 10.73 seconds to win the women’s 100- metre final at the World Championship.

Fraser’s MVP teammates Kaliese Spencer, a 400-metre hurdles finalist at the World Championship and Michael Frater, a finalist in the 100-metre final at the World Championship also arrived yesterday.

Government officials including Minister of Sports Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange were on hand to meet the athletes.

The government has unveiled plans to celebrate the achievements of the athletes at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany.

The celebratory event is scheduled to take place from October 2 to 4. It is dubbed the \'The Berlin Salute - a Tribute to Our Athletes\'.
