Powell, Gay to clash again

Jamaica’s former world 100-metre record holder Asafa Powell and American Tyson Gay will compete in the 100 metres at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix on Sunday.

Gay and Powell finished second and third behind the world’s fastest man Usain Bolt in the 100 metres final at last month’s world championships.

They will also run in the Daegu Pre-Championships Meeting on September 25.

Bolt had been booked for both meets but the Jamaican sensation pulled out of the Asia trip last week because of fatigue.

Other top names listed for the Daegu event will be Jamaica’s Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown and American World Champion Allyson Felix, who will clash over 200 metres.
