Australia beat England

Tim Paine scored his first one-day international century and Ricky Ponting pulled off two brilliant runouts as Australia beat hosts England by 111 runs at Trent Bridge today to lead the seven-game series 6-0.



England\'s only hope of avoiding a 7-0 sweep hangs on a victory at Durham on Sunday.



Paine, the wicketkeeper and one-day opener, scored 111 in the day-night to lead Australia to 296-8 off their allotted 50 overs.



Mark Hussey chipped in with 65, while James Hopes got 38 and Cameron White 35.



James Anderson was the most successful bowler for England with 4-55.



Set a victory target of 297, England were bowled out for 185 with nine overs still to play.



Tim Bresnan defied the Australian bowlers with an unbeaten 31. James Hopes finished with 3-32 and Brett Lee and Nathan Bracken took two wickets each.
