Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser were presented with bonus cheques by telecommunication firm Digicel earlier this afternoon for their achievements at the 12th World Championship in Berlin, Germany last month.

Bolt, who smashed his 100 and 200-metre records, at the World Championship received a bonus of $8.9 million, while Fraser, the Olympic and world championship 100-metre gold medallist was presented with $1.78 million.

Mark Lineham, CEO of Digicel Jamaica, presented the athletes with their cheques at a ceremony at Courtleigh Hotel in New Kingston.

Bolt and Fraser returned to the country this week after ending their season at the World Athletics Final in Thessaloniki, Greece last weekend.
