St Jago record second victory

St Jago High recorded their second victory in as many games when they beat Innswood 2-1 as the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel corporate area Manning Cup competition continued yesterday.



As a result of the victory the Spanish Town-based school has moved to six points in Group ‘B’ to hold the early lead.



In other Group ‘B’ games yesterday, Haile Selassie outscored Jose Marti 4-2 to win their first match in two games while Ardenne and Norman Manley ended 1-1.



Over in Group ‘C’ Spanish Town beat Tarrant 2-0 to get their campaign off to a winning start, Campion College defeated Cumberland 3-0, while Trench Town and Excelsior battled to a goalless draw.



Campion and Excelsior lead the Goup with four points each.



In the day’s other game, Charlie Smith edged St Mary’s College 2-1 to move to four points in Group ‘F’.



The competition continues this afternoon at 3:30 with nine matches across three Groups.
