Stimulus package for Guyana rice

The Guyana government has announced a $2 million stimulus package for its rice industry.



The package comes on the heels of farmers’ complaints about high input costs.



President Bharrat Jagdeo says the funds will go towards addressing some of the problems in the industry.



He says the government is also considering expanding its markets, as the country expects its largest harvest this year.
