Sri Lanka against South Africa
Tillakaratne Dilshan scored his third one-day international century today to lead Sri Lanka to 319 for 8 against hosts South Africa in the opening match of the Champions Trophy at Centurion Park.
Dilshan hit 106 that included 16 boundaries in his 92-ball innings.
Dilshan was well supported by captain Kumar Sangakkara, who scored 54 in a partnership of 158-runs.
Mahela Jayawardene and Thilan Samaraweera also got among the runs. The pair put on a partnership of 116 for the fourth wicket following the dismissal of Sangakkara and Dilshan.
Jayawardene fell for 77 off the bowling of Wayne Parnell. On the next delivery, Samaraweera edged Parnell to third man to be dismissed for 37 off 47 balls.
Dale Steyn returned best figures for South Africa with three for 47 off nine overs. Parnell also took three wickets, but they cost 79 runs.
South Africa, chasing a victory target of 320, were 18 for one after five overs.
Hashim Amla is the batsman back in the pavilion. He was bowled by Angelo Matthews for two.
The batsmen at the crease are captain Graeme Smith on 14 and Jacques Kallis on 2.
