Liverpool striker David Ngog produced a clinical finish to lead the Reds to a 1-0 victory at Leeds in a testing Carling Cup third-round tie yesterday.
Ngog scored the only goal in the 66th minute in front of 38 thousand fans at Elland Road after a Liverpool side without the rested Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and other regular starters struggled to take control against the League One side.
In other games, Arsenal beat 10-man West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at Emirates Stadium, League One side Barnsley upset Premier League\'s Burnley 3-2, Stoke hit back from two goals down to beat Championship side Blackpool 4-3, Sunderland ousted Birmingham 2-0 and Blackburn won 1-1 at Nottingham Forest.
