West Indies against Pakistan

Pakistan, replying to West Indies’ 133 all out off 34.3 overs, were 54 for three after 14 overs in the second match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy at the Wanderers in South Africa.

Gavin Tonge has taken all three wickets to fall.

Tonge bowled Imran Nazir for five in the second over, then had Kamran Akmal caught behind for the same score four overs later and also had Shoaib Malik caught for 23.

The batsmen at the crease Mohammad Yousuf 18 and Misbah-ul-Haq yet to get off the mark.

Strangely choosing to bat on a typically hard, bouncy Wanderers pitch, West Indies crashed to 47 for seven in the 15th over.

However, Nikita Miller struck six fours and one six in the top score of 51 from 57 balls to add some respectability to their total.

Only two other West Indies batsmen reached double figures, Darren Sammy made 25 and Devon Smith got 18.

Bowling for Pakistan, Mohammad Aamer collected three for 24 from seven overs, Umar Gul snared three for 28 from eight overs and Saeed Ajmal bagged two for 16 from four overs.

West Indies are fielding a depleted squad for the competition, after efforts to resolve a long-running contracts dispute between the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) proved futile.
