Antigua and Barbuda\'s former top financial regulator will have to wait until December to find out if he will be extradited to the United States after being implicated in a multi-billion dollar fraud with investor Sir Allen Stanford, according to www.cananews.net.

Chief Magistrate Ivan Walters, at a hearing yesterday agreed to a request made by defence lawyers for more time to prepare for the case and adjourned the hearing until December 14.

King was placed under house arrest shortly after being fired as the chief executive officer of the Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC) on July 23.

His dismissal came after financial regulators in the United States said he was involved in an alleged US$7 billion investment fraud involving Sir Allen.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has accused King of helping the billionaire investor in exchange for US$100,000 in bribes.

The charges against him include wire fraud, mail fraud and conspiracy to obstruct an SEC investigation.
