Former champion jockey Shane Ellis ticked off a three-timer at Caymanas Park yesterday including victory aboard the highly fancied AL FOUZIA in the Dewhurst Stakes, confined to native-bred two-year-olds.

The Rowan Mathie-trained AL FOUZIA won the 1300-metre event by seven-and-a-half lengths from SILENT IMAGE, the mount of Trinidadian jockey Brian Harding.

Ellis also won aboard CASSANOVA BOY for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta in the fifth race and ESCAPE THE FATE for trainer Morris Powell in the eighth race.

Meanwhile, COCK ROBIN at odds of 5-1 with jockey Andre’ Martin won Race Number Three in the popular Champion Betting/CTL Claiming series over 1100 metres.

The Knutsford Park Cup over 1200 metres was won by JAYLEN with claiming rider Richard Mairs, while BUNKER DUST, with another claiming rider Aaron Chatrie, won the 475th Anniversary of Spanish Town Trophy over the straight-five course.
