Queen to make three-day stopover in November

Britain\'s Queen Elizabeth II is to pay a three-day visit to Bermuda in November as part of the activities marking the island\'s 400th birthday, according to a report on www.cananews.net.



The Queen will be visiting the Caribbean to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting to be held in Trinidad and Tobago from November 27through 29.



She will be accompanied by her husband, Prince Philip. They will arrive on November 24, having last visited the British Overseas Territory in 1994.



There had been much speculation that the royal couple would have by-passed Bermuda as a result of the controversy surrounding the decision of the Ewart Brown administration to offer sanctuary to four Chinese Muslim Uighurs after they were released from seven years\' detention at the United States detention camp at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.



Premier Brown said he brought them here in June as a humanitarian act but the move incensed Britain because Brown did not first ask permission from London.



The issue is likely to be raised during the Premier\'s visit to England next week.



Brown and Cabinet Secretary Marc Telemaque are will meet with British parliamentarians and government officials at the annual Labour Party conference in Brighton.
