The leaders of the world\'s biggest economies are now meeting in Pittsburgh in the United States in an effort to bring order to the world financial system.

According to the BBC, Caribbean leaders will be asked at the G20 summit to punish low-tax financial centres that fail to meet international standards.

Eleven Caribbean nations remain on a so-called grey list of such centres that was approved at the last summit in April.

Since then several offshore centres have rushed to complete a minimum 12 bilateral agreements that require them to share with foreign tax authorities certain bank data on tax evasion matters.

They include Aruba, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands and the Netherlands Antilles.
