Two centuries were scored in yesterday’s fourth and final trial match at Kensington Park to select Jamaica’s team for next month’s regional one-day competition.

Chris Gayle, batting at number nine, hammered an undefeated 127 including 11 fours and six sixes. However, Shawn Findlay scored 105 and Carlton Baugh supported with an undefeated 86 to lead Brenton Parchment’s Eleven to a seven-wicket victory over Gayle’s Eleven.

Batting first, Gayle’s Eleven made 289-9 off their allotted 50 overs against the bowling of Parchment 3-39 and Odean Brown 2-44.

Fast bowler Andre Russell supported Gayle with 33.

Parchment’s Eleven responded with 286-3.

Bowling for Gayle’s Eleven, left-arm seamer Krismar Santokie took 1-31 and Brendan Nash 1-10.

Meanwhile the naming of Jamaica’s 14-member squad has been delayed as a result of an appeal hearing into the recent suspensions of St Catherine Cricket Club captain, Tamar Lambert, and off-spinner, Bevan Brown.
