Chief Minister Osborne Fleming says without additional assistance the government will be unable to meet its financial obligations.

Mr Fleming is planning to meet with public officers and the private sector to discuss the fiscal situation.

Another British territory, the Cayman Islands, has also asked the UK for permission to borrow funds to help the economy.
