Two Bermudians suspected of being part of a drug smuggling ring have been arrested at Philadelphia International Airport in the United States.
The two are said to have swallowed more than US$20,000 worth of hashish, a form of cannabis.
The United States Customs and Border Protection Agency say 20-year-old Sanchez Smith and 25-year-old Shakai Darrell, who were on their way home from Jamaica, were held in two separate incidents.
They were found to have ingested more than 1.5 pounds of hashish, stored in 112 thumb-sized plastic pellets.
Spokesman for the Agency Steve Sapp says the arrests have put a dent in the Jamaica-to-Bermuda hashish smuggling ring.
